Ella Lemhagen studied directing at Dramatiska Institutet 1989-92. She made her debut as a feature film director in 1996 with the highly praised Drömprinsen - filmen om Em/The Prince of Dreams, for which she also wrote the original screenplay. Ella has had great national and international success with her films. Her 1999 feature Tsatsiki, morsan och polisen/Tsatsiki, Mum and the Policeman, is one of the most popular contemporary Swedish children- and youth oriented films of all time. Patrik 1,5/Patrik, Age 1.5 earned wide international acclaim after its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2008. The Crown Jewels (2011) is her latest film.
